The Cynthiana-Harrison County Recreation Department offers Soccer for youth of Cynthiana-Harrison County. The soccer season begins in the fall coinciding with the start of school. Sign-ups are held for three Saturdays in August. Teams are then formed and practice begins towards the end of August, with games beginning after Labor Day. The season wraps up in Mid-October. The following Leagues are offered. The age of the child on September 1st of the upcoming season will determine which league your child plays. As in all sports offered by the Cynthiana-Harrison County Recreation Department, each player pays a participation fee, and any family with a 2nd child pays ½ price for the 2nd to play, and the 3rd and beyond play free.

Under 6 Instructional League
This league is mainly for children 4 & 5-years-old. Games are played on Saturday mornings at River Road Park. This League is to teach the basic soccer skills. Coaches referee and the score is not important. Every player in this league receives a participation trophy. Each Team is responsible for finding a sponsor to provide shirts for all players. Under 8 Soccer League
This league is for children 6 & 7-years-old. Games are played at River Road Park. This league has volunteer coaches and sponsors to provide shirts for all players. The Recreation Department provides referees for this league. Trophies are given to the best teams in this league with every player receiving a participation certificate. 10 & Under Soccer League
This league is for players not reaching their 11th birthday before September 1st of the upcoming season. This league is played at Cherokee Park which is owned by the Housing Authority of Cynthiana. Teams have 11 players and High School rules are followed during games. The Recreation Department hires referees for this league. Under 14 Soccer League
This year, we will have sign-ups for an Under 14 Soccer League. In order for the league to exist, it is necessary that we field no less than four teams (48 players). Soccer Referees & Coaches
Anyone wanting to referee soccer for any age group should call Kenny Copes. This job pays a per-game salary. Anyone with some experience is more than welcome to apply. Soccer Coaches are very had to come by, so anyone wanting to help are encouraged to do so.
