Ages for eligibility are based upon the age of the child on April 30th of the present season. Therefore, the age of your child on April 30th, 2006 determines which league he or she will participate.

A participation fee is required by all players. These fees vary by league and age. Every family that has a 2nd child participating in our league will pay ½ price for that child, and any additional children per family beyond that plays for free!

4 Year-Old Instructional League
Boys and Girls play together, using a reduced injury factor baseball. All players bat and play defense. All players are required to have an adult with them on the field. All players bat, then teams trade places and the other team takes its turn at bat. This rotation is completed twice and this is considered a game. Games are played on Saturday Mornings and all players who finish season receive trophies. Teams have volunteer coaches and each team is responsible for getting a sponsor to provide shirts & (hats). 6, 7 & 8-Year-Old Tee Ball
Boys and Girls play together with all players batting and playing defense. This league is to develop basic baseball skills. Games are played throughout the week and some Saturdays. Teams play a regular season and an end of season tournament. Teams have volunteer coaches and are responsible for getting a sponsor to provide (hats) & shirts. The recreation Department provides scorekeeper and umpires. Trophies are awarded to top teams with everyone receiving a participation certificate. 7 & 8 year old coach pitch league
this league is for boys and girls ages 7 and 8 based upon the age of the player on april 30 2006. This will be the first season we have offered this league and the rules will be set as we get started in the formation of the league.

Cal Ripken Baseball
Boys and Girls may participate in Cal Ripken Baseball. This league is for 9-12 year olds.

This league is to develop advanced baseball skills. This league is made up of 10 teams with at least 13 players and no more than 15 players per team. Teams play a regular season and a end of season tournament. There is no rule for participation but every coach is urged to see that every player plays in every game. All players signing up for this league attend tryouts, coaches fill there rosters from this group with players not selected playing in the Minor League. Teams have volunteer coaches and sponsor's, each team pays a sponsorship fee to the recreation department and provides uniforms and equipment at the sponsors discretion. The recreation department provides scorekeeper and umpires for each game with game equipment. Trophies are awarded to top teams and each player receives a participation certificate. Minor League Baseball
This league is for Boys and Girls ages 9-12. This league is for players not drafted by Cal Ripken who need more time to develop or who are looking for a less stressful game other than Cal Ripken. All players bat and must play 2 innings of defense in each game. Players may opt to sign-up for minor league and skip the Cal Ripken try-outs. Teams have volunteer coaches and sponsors who provide them with hats and shirts. The cost for this league is $50.00, the recreation department provides scorekeeper and umpires for this league. Pigtail Softball
This league is for girls 9-12 years old. This league is fast pitch softball. Teams are split into an A-team and B-team. B-team games are played with the youngest players with the coach pitching. The A-team will have a player pitcher. Teams play a regular season and a tournament on Wednesday and Friday nights. The cost for this league is $50.00. Babe Ruth Baseball
This league is for Boys or Girls 13, 14 or 15 years old. This league has suffered participation numbers during the past couple of seasons. At least 60 players must sign-up for this league to continue. Teams from nearby cities are contacted for games with teams from Cynthiana. The cost for this league is $50.00. Ponytail Softball
This league is for Girls ages 13-18, this league is slow pitch softball. Teams are formed from new players attending try-outs and being drafted by the volunteer coaches, all players trying out are placed on a team. Teams play a regular season and a tournament. Top teams receive trophies and all players receive a participation certificate. Teams have volunteer coaches and sponsors who provide shirts to all players.
